TONGUE • Neon Tiki Series
Meet Tongue — the second glowing spirit to join my Neon Tiki Series. Where Teeth bared its grin to the night, Tongue takes it further: a wild, curling tongue mid-roar between rows of pastel-neon teeth, framed by the same narrowed, knowing eyes and voltage-lit linework that started this collection.
Hand-drawn from scratch on iPad Pro using Procreate, Tongue leans into that same primal, expressive energy — soft mint, lavender, baby blue, pink, and buttery yellow pulsing against deep black, like a tiki carving struck by neon lightning. Those same pastel tones don't just glow figuratively — under blacklight, they ignite, giving Tongue a second life in UV glow that's even bolder after dark. It's untamed, electric, and impossible to look away from in any light.
Tongue continues the story Teeth began. Each new piece in the Neon Tiki Series adds another glowing spirit to the collection — collect them as they emerge, before the full series is complete.
Artist Note: "If Teeth was the growl, Tongue is the roar — folklore with a little more voltage behind it." — Penny
Display Tip: For the full voltage effect, hang Tongue under a blacklight (UV) bulb — a simple addition that transforms the piece from vivid daylight art into a glowing after-dark centerpiece.
